Privacy Policy
BorderDays · operated by Jadthena Ltd, registered in England & Wales · Effective 8 August 2026
1. Who we are
BorderDays ("we", "us", "our") is a residency day-tracking app operated by Jadthena Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales. The data controller for the purposes of the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 is Jadthena Ltd.
If you have any questions about this policy or how we handle your data, contact us at andy@andygannon.co.uk.
2. What this policy covers
This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use the BorderDays website or mobile app, including the free calculator pages, account sign-up, and the trip tracker.
3. What personal data we collect
- Account data — email address and a salted, hashed password. We never store your password in plain text.
- Trip data you enter — country, entry date and exit date for each trip you log, plus (if you use the UK Statutory Residence Test tool) the number of UK ties you select and whether you are a UK leaver. This data is used only to compute your day counts and forecast thresholds.
- Technical data — IP address, browser type, and standard server access logs.
The free calculator pages (Schengen 90/180, UK SRT, US substantial presence) run entirely in your browser and do not require an account or send your trip dates to our servers unless you choose to save them by signing up.
We do not collect special-category data, payment-card data, or data about anyone other than the account holder. Stripe/paid-tier billing is not yet enabled for BorderDays; if it is enabled in future, this policy will be updated first.
4. How we use your personal data
- To provide the day-counting, forecasting, and CSV-export features you use the app for.
- To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
- To respond to support enquiries sent to us directly.
- To comply with legal, regulatory, accounting, and tax obligations.
5. Legal basis for processing
- Contract — to provide the tracking service you signed up for.
- Legitimate interests — to operate and secure the app and respond to enquiries.
- Legal obligation — to retain accounting/tax records as required by UK law.
6. Third parties we share data with
We do not sell personal data and do not share it with advertisers. Data may be processed by:
- Hetzner Cloud — hosting of our servers.
- App marketplace operators (Apple App Store, Google Play) as required to distribute the app, per their own privacy terms.
7. International transfers
Our servers are hosted in the EU. Where a service provider operates outside the UK, any transfer relies on an adequacy decision, standard contractual clauses, or another approved transfer mechanism.
8. How long we keep your data
- Account and trip data — retained while your account is active, deleted within 30 days of a verified deletion request.
- Server logs — 30 days.
9. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, or erase your data, restrict or object to processing, request portability, withdraw consent, and lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. To exercise any of these rights, or to request account deletion, email andy@andygannon.co.uk. We aim to respond within one calendar month.
10. Cookies and tracking
BorderDays uses only the essential session cookie required to keep you signed in. We do not use third-party analytics or advertising cookies or trackers.
11. Data security
We apply TLS-everywhere, salted password hashing, and least-privilege access controls. No system is perfectly secure; if we become aware of a personal-data breach we will notify the ICO and any affected individuals within the timeframes required by UK law.
12. Children's data
BorderDays is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
13. Not tax, legal or immigration advice
BorderDays counts days and applies published thresholds. It is not tax, legal or immigration advice — confirm your position with a qualified professional.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Effective" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent version.
